Since the finale aired on Sunday to about 6 million viewers, I thought it might actually be worth sharing a few thoughts. First, this season was pretty damn good. The finale may have been a so-so end to a really great season, but I had a blast watching this season.
The finale itself was pretty good, but not as good as it should've been. I think we can all agree that the writing has progressively devolved in terms of smart and witty dialogue. I also think the fact that the show's popularity has risen dramatically in the last few months attributed to Alan Ball stupifying the plot. I am little dissappointed in this mainly because I watched it when it was still a diamond in the rough and not the hottest thing on TV.
The cliffhanger where Bill was kidnapped was good, but I wasn't exactly thinking about how I wanted to see the next season. Still, I'm going to watch the next season. I'm just afraid that the third season may be the one where it loses some steam.
True Blood's second season was not better than the first season, but it came pretty close. This season was a little too over the top filled to the brim with orgies and the disturbing hunter's soufflee scene where Maryanne cuts a human heart up and feeds it to Tara and Eggs in the form of hunter's pie. That being said, the episode "I Will Rise Up" was AMAZING. My favorite episode of the show to date. Finale: B+ Season: A
