Something wasn't sitting quite right. Back in August, when cinephiles learned that David Mamet and Disney had teamed up to make The Diary of Anne Frank, people were in awe. How could Disney make such a serious movie? Well, they couldn't. Disney has scrapped Anne Frank on the basis of its dark material. Of course, it's dark. It's The Diary of Anne Frank! Anybody who knows what the book is could tell you that. I'll bet that somebody will eventually pick the movie back up. Nobody does that to David Mamet.
